This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website RoadResolve.com (the "Site") and use our services (the "Services"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the site or use our services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect on the Site includes:
A. Information You Provide to Us:
- Vehicle Problem Descriptions: When you use our diagnostic tool, you provide descriptions of your car's symptoms.
- Vehicle Information: You provide details such as your car's make, model, and year.
- Location Information: You may provide your postal code to find local mechanic recommendations. Providing your postal code is optional for the diagnostic service but required for mechanic recommendations.
- Contact Information (Future): If you contact us directly or use a future contact form, we may collect your name, email address, and any other information you choose to provide.
B. Information Automatically Collected:
Like many websites, we may automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Site. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Site, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Site, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.
C. Information from Third-Party Services:
- AI Diagnosis (OpenAI): The problem description and vehicle information you provide are sent to OpenAI's API to generate a diagnosis. We do not control OpenAI's data handling practices. We encourage you to review OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- Mechanic Location Services (Google Maps API): If you provide your postal code, it is used with the Google Maps Geocoding API to determine coordinates, and these coordinates are then used with the Google Places API to find nearby mechanics. We do not control Google's data handling practices. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy.
- Vehicle Data (NHTSA API): We fetch vehicle make and model information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) API. This interaction does not typically involve sending your personal data to NHTSA.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect or receive:
- To provide, operate, and maintain our Services (e.g., generate AI diagnoses, find mechanics).
- To improve, personalize, and expand our Services.
- To understand and analyze how you use our Services.
- To develop new products, services, features, and functionality.
- For security and fraud prevention.

3. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations:
- With Third-Party Service Providers: As described above, information is shared with OpenAI and Google Maps API to provide core functionalities of our Service.
- By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.
- Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

5. Data Retention
We retain information submitted for diagnoses (problem description, vehicle details, postal code if provided) only as long as necessary to provide the service for that session or as required for operational logging and analytics. We do not currently create user accounts or persistently store your specific diagnostic queries tied to identifiable personal information beyond server logs which are subject to standard retention policies.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store information for the functioning of the Site and for analytics. Our Site primarily uses essential cookies for basic functionality. If we implement analytics services like Google Analytics, these services may use their own cookies. You can typically remove or reject cookies via your browser settings. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of the Site.
For users in Canada, we aim to comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete your data. As we do not currently maintain user accounts or store identifiable diagnostic history, requests regarding personal data would primarily pertain to information held in server logs or processed by our third-party API providers according to their policies.
