Help & Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about Road Resolve.
What is Road Resolve?
Road Resolve is an online service designed to help you understand potential issues with your vehicle. By describing your car's symptoms, our AI provides a preliminary diagnosis, possible causes, and general insights. We can also help you find local mechanics if you provide your postal code.
How does the AI diagnosis work?
Our system uses an advanced Artificial Intelligence model. You provide a description of your car's problem and, optionally, your vehicle's make, model, and year. The AI analyzes this information based on a vast dataset of automotive knowledge to suggest potential issues and their urgency.
What information should I provide for the best diagnosis?
The more details, the better! While providing your car's Make, Model, and Year is optional, it significantly helps the AI provide a more specific and potentially more accurate preliminary diagnosis. A clear, detailed description of the problem (e.g., "I hear a clicking noise from the front right wheel when I turn left at low speeds," including when it happens, any related symptoms, etc.) is also crucial.
How accurate is the AI diagnosis?
The AI diagnosis is for informational and educational purposes only and should be considered a preliminary guide, not a definitive mechanical assessment. It is not a substitute for a professional inspection by a certified mechanic. While we strive for helpful insights, accuracy can vary based on the information provided and the complexity of the issue. Always consult a professional before making repair decisions. Please see our full Disclaimer for more details.
What if I don't know my car's make, model, or year?
You can still get a diagnosis! If you leave the make, model, or year fields blank, our AI will provide a more general diagnosis based solely on the problem description you provide. However, for more specific insights and features like "Known Model-Specific Issues," providing these details is recommended when possible.
What if the vehicle Make or Model dropdowns aren't working?
Our site uses an external information from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to populate vehicle makes and models. If this external service is temporarily down (e.g., for maintenance, as you might have experienced), you might not be able to select your specific vehicle. In such cases, you can still proceed with a diagnosis by only describing your problem. The AI will provide a general assessment. We appreciate your patience if this external service is unavailable.
How are mechanic recommendations generated? Are they sponsored?
Mechanic recommendations are generated based on the postal code you provide and utilize data from Google. We aim to show relevant local options based on publicly available information like ratings and reviews. Road Resolve does not currently feature sponsored listings or have partnerships that influence these recommendations.
Is my information private?
We take your privacy seriously. When you use our service, the information you provide (problem description, vehicle details, postal code) is used to generate the diagnosis and mechanic suggestions. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Who is Road Resolve for?
Road Resolve is for any car owner who wants to gain a better understanding of potential vehicle issues, learn what questions to ask a mechanic, get an idea of urgency and potential costs, or get a starting point for diagnosing a problem before seeking professional help.
